In order to renew your vehicle registration online you will need the following:
Your vehicle renewal notice which you received by mail.
Note: Only one year renewals for Class 3 Passenger Vehicles, Motorcycles and Motorhomes (with no amendments required) are eligible.
This includes cars, light trucks, vans and motor homes exclusively used for personal transportation on a private, non-commercial basis.
A valid insurance pink card which is proof of insurance coverage.
Your insurance must provide public liability and property damage coverage under an owner's automobile insurance policy as provided for in the Alberta Insurance Act.
It is an offence punishable by law to apply for or obtain registration of a motor vehicle when it is not insured or to operate an uninsured motor vehicle.
A valid credit card. We accept VISA, Mastercard, or American Express.
A web browser with 128-bit encryption capabilities to ensure the security of your transaction.
Allow at least 10 business days for registrations and tabs to reach you by mail. If you are processing this renewal within 10 days of expiry, you may not receive your new registration and tabs before the end of the month. It is your responsibility to allow sufficient time for mail delivery.
Do not renew your vehicle online if your mailing address has changed otherwise your documents will be sent to the wrong address.
Print and keep your receipt as proof of payment.
If you do not receive your new registration and tabs after allowing 10 days, take your printed receipt to any Registry Agent for a no fee tab replacement.
